CRAM3RA

The growth of mobility and the diffusion of installations and productive activities in the territory are all factors that have enormously increased and diversified the human pressure on the Environment. A further pressure is given by the presence of natural risks, for which our Region is particularly exposed.

At present, it is necessary to have awareness that in a system of so increasing complexity, it is difficult, if not impossible, to hypothesize solutions, simple and limited to the environmental, social and economic problems.

It needs, therefore, a multi-disciplinary approach for the different environmental problems with only a structure of research, that represents an effective and complete point of reference to the requirements of the territory.

Considered that the technical and scientific experimental competences in environmental field are diffused in different Departments and Faculties of the University of Catania, it is held opportune to rejoin them inside an only one Research Center.

The CRAM3RA originates from the demand to contribute to a greater protection of the environment, as consequence of the environmental stress produced by various activities, and to safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, as strategic resource.

The CRAM3RA has the ability to communicate on the processes related to organization and innovative management of environmental risk, acting in the phase of research and advancement and in the application of applied methodologies.
